Seattle was AWESOME. It was my first time being in Seattle or even Washington state and I was very impressed. The parkour community there is pretty large and we were able to meet up with Rafe Kelley and stay with him a couple nights. We had a small parkour competition in Volunteer Park with some time trials through the trees which turned out to be super fun and acquired some spectators as well. We also hit up Gasworks park which was even more fun for me, finally landing a Dash-Bomb outside! I definitely plan to return to Gasworks next time I’m in Seattle. Next couple days.. Vancouver!

Seattle is definitely one of my favorite communities. The leaders up there are working so hard with the best of intentions to bring the good word of parkour to everyone around them. We got to run through a private comp in the trees at volunteer park, which was a blast trying to adapt to shapes we’re not all that used to. Couldn’t quite beat Justin Sweeney, one of my favorite traceurs…until next time Sweeney. Thanks for putting that on, Rafe. I’ve been to most training spots there, but I was able to train at Luther Burbank Park for about 5 hours of pure enjoyment. It’s a hilarious dynamic doing the things we do side by side with a bunch of 3-year-olds. We had to answer the question “How do you do that?” about 100 times. We stuck with the answer “practice.” The funniest and most ironic thing that happened soon after was Jake Smith watching a video of some top traceur in the world, and then saying out loud, “How does he do that?” Most of us started to laugh before quickly responding, “Practice!” – Amos
